More About 2nd Star Quartet

2nd Star is honored to have received the 2019 Novice Quartet award for SAI Region 19. Tenor Sally Burton, Lead Lynda Walsh, Baritone Patti Platt and Bass Mary Beth Whisman are all members of the Chesapeake Harmony Chorus.  They have been singing together since 2015 when a group from the chorus traveled and sang around Ireland.  They enjoy Friday evening rehearsals to unwind, sing harmony and be in their Never Never Land.  When not singing together, Mary Beth and Lynda keep Sirius XM in Washington DC humming along, Patti co-owns the beautiful A La Mode lingerie store in Annapolis, and Sally runs a consulting business supporting nonprofits.  2nd Star quartet won The Voices Novice quartet contest at a Sweet Adelines International Region 19 education event in September 2016.  In June 2018, they traveled to Alaska and performed on a Harmony At Sea cruise.  In 2019, 2nd Star was named Region 19’s Novice Quartet Champion.
