Chesapeake Harmony Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is an organization of women singers who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We have singers of all ages from all walks of life. We come from Edgewater, Annapolis, Crownsville, Severna Park and the surrounding area.

Performance

Chesapeake Harmony Chorus loves to get out and sing for the community. We sing at fairs and festivals, community events, assisted living homes and more. We also deliver Singing Valentines in person and by phone. We can sing at your next function - and it's never too early to book us for December holiday parties. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us page.

Education

In addition to sharing our music with others, we are passionate about learning and educating others about the art of a Capella singing in the barbershop style. Did you know this is an American artform? Vocal instruction from our Director, Sally Burton, is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. This is done with the help of her Music Team.

The Music Team consists of Section leaders and the Director. The section leaders who help their sections learn through positive feedback.

Several times during the year, we will get coaching from an outside Director who will teach us additional, fabulous tricks of the trade.

COMPETITON

CHC_Contest2016.jpg

In the Spring of every year, Chesapeake Harmony Chorus participates in the Region 19 chorus competition. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the Fall. The city varies, but the sound is always awesome.
